The House

This gîte, which could also be called a tiny house since it litteraly is that, is located in Villefranche-du-Périgord, at the southern tip of the Dordogne region in France. With a beautiful view of the forests, the fishing pond, and the community swimming pool.

In recent years this tiny house has been fully renovated, with a beautiful kitchen and nice bathroom and equipped with almost everything you need.

Lay out

Ground floor

Opening the doors on the ground floor brings you into an open space with a tiled floor and a bathroom with a shower and toilet to your left. You will also find a washing machine, drying rack, two lockers and two bicycles (one for him and one for here). There is a rotan garden set, which you can place outside when the weather is nice.

First floor

The stairs bring you to the attractive studio on the first floor with the kitchen, dining area, sitting area and a double sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave, electric oven, coffee maker, kettle and all necessary kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery. Bed linen and towels are also present or will be supplied.

In case it is chilly, you can use the electric heating. In the summer, this studio is quite comfortably cool since it is located on the North side of Villefranche. The house has a French balcony from which you have an even better view of the valley. Although it was fully renovated, with new floors, you can still see some of the original details. One of them is the small window to the left, which served as a sink in the old days.

Location

It was only recently that the community of Villefranche-du-Périgord assigned house numbers, as in most villages in the region. Finally, we can present you with a proper address:

5 Boulevard Charles Maurial
24550 Villefranche-du-Périgord.

You can park your car just in front of the house. Across the road, there is a site for campers. On the other side of the pond you will find some benches and picnic tables. From the gîte it’s only a short walk to the stores on the main street, the post office or the town square with it’s antique market hall and the church.
